The Spanish exchange traded €34.9 bn. in September
Monthly trading statements for BME Markets
The Spanish Exchange traded €34.9 billion in Equities in September, up 7% from the previous month. The number of trades in September reached 2.98 million, 1.4% higher than in the previous month.
The Financial Derivatives marketreported increasesin IBEX 35 Futures and Mini IBEX Options of 6.5% and 6.6% respectively in comparison with the period from January to September of the previous year. In September the Open Interest on Mini IBEX contracts increased 14.7%
In Fixed Income, the volume traded in September increased by 129.2% compared to the same period last year, due to the increase on public debt assets trading. The increase posted during the first nine months of the year was of 39.6%.
The volume of new issues admitted to trading on MARF in September reached 402 million euros, which represents a 24.1% increase year-on-year. The accumulated trading volume at the end of the first nine months of the year totalled 4.4 billion euros, a year-on-year increase of 47.8%. The outstanding balance in this market reaches 3.1 billion euros (+ 31.4%).
