MEFF broadens range of underlyings for single stock dividend future contracts

Meeting the demand of market participants

12 May, 2016

MEFF, the Derivatives Market of BME, will broaden the range of underlying assets for Single Stock Dividend Future contracts.

This initiative meets the demand of Market Members and their clients in a context of uncertainty around the dividend policies of some companies, which creates risks in the valuation of derivative products. With these new underlyings, it is now possible to expand the range of hedging instruments in investor’s portfolios.

As of May 26th MEFF will admit to trading Single Stock Dividend Future Contracts on the following four new underlying assets:

• Abertis

• Banco Popular

• CaixaBank

• Gas Natural

These new underlyings will be available in the categories of Single Stock Dividend Futures, with multiplier 1000 and Single Stock Dividend Futures Plus, with multiplier 25,000, always featuring the same characteristics as the existing ones.

Like all products traded on MEFF, they are backed by the guarantees offered by a regulated market and a Central Counterparty, BME Clearing.
